About Eetspots

Eetspots shows where you can eat in Groningen, with the free times next to it.

Why Eetspots exists

You want to go out tonight, the four of you, around half past seven. So it starts: open a site, click reserve, full. Next site, different system, full again. After ten minutes you just call.

That is because nearly every restaurant has its own reservation system. Of the 42 well-regarded restaurants we looked at in November 2026, 33 take online reservations, spread over six systems. Each system's app shows only its own restaurants, and a large booking site listed four of the 42. There was no overview of all of them together. Now there is.

How it works

Pick a day, a time and how many you are. Eetspots asks the restaurants where there is room and lays out the times. Click a time and you go to the restaurant's own reservation page. You book there: Eetspots books nothing and does not sit in between.

When we cannot see a restaurant's times, we show how you can get in anyway: through their site, with a phone call or by walking in.

Eating at home

Many places have their own order page, though it is not always easy to find. Through a large delivery platform, roughly 12 to 25 percent goes to commission. Order directly and that commission does not go to a platform. Eating at home lists the places where you can.
